Introduction

A career in cyber security can be amazing! This level 2 course is designed as an introduction to provide a good overview, awareness and starting point of cyber security knowledge and skills. This course is ideal if you are considering a career in IT and want to see if cyber security is for you, or if you are already working and would benefit from improving your knowledge of cyber security.

You will join your expert tutor every week…

  • Live weekly sessions – 2 hours per week
  • Weekly exercises, labs and study projects – 4 hours per week
  • 1 to 1 meetings with your Development Officer every 3 – 5 weeks, providing individual feedback and support
  • Immersive learning experience through Microsoft Teams Classroom – including live open interactions, private breakout rooms, notes and questions, and interactive illustration boards

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I receive a certificate?
Yes. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Cyber Security from NCFE, which is an Ofqual regulated national awarding organisation for further education qualifications. You will also receive Cisco certifications (optional) for those which you successfully complete.

What if I need help with English, maths and employability skills?
Students are supported with specialist tech-based study for the development of key English and maths skills required for working within the tech sector, alongside critical employability skills to achieve success within cyber security.

What support will I receive?

We will assess any Additional Learning Support (ALS) needs that you may have during your application, and will work with you to create an Individualised Learning Plan (ILP) that will detail any support requirements, including additional sessions, or changes to resources to make them more accessible.
